A Thank You Poster for our Nanny

If I had been one of the good fairies bestowing gifts to Sleeping Beauty at her baptism, I wouldn’t have bothered giving her clear skin or musicality. Instead, I would have given her a strong capacity for gratitude.

There is no greater source of joy, and it’s the ultimate renewable resource:  The more you express it, the more you feel.

High up on my gratitude list these days is our ace nanny (“Daily miracles performed with a smile”) and my dual tip brush pens (fuchsia, sepia, and emerald – yeah, baby!)

So, with said nanny’s birthday coming up at the end of the week, I bought a piece of white A3 card stock (297 x 420 mm or 11.7 x 16.5 in) and gathered my kids around the kitchen counter to make this:

RachelCard

(Later that evening, my husband added in, “You keep my wife sane.”)

I wanted the kids to think in granular detail about how much our nanny brings to our lives, and to remember all the fun they’ve had over the year.

And hopefully, it will bring a smile to her lips and heart as she multi-tasks the ironing, times table drill and phoning in our meter reading.
